Console Junkie!

So, in (rough chronological order) I've got: Atari 2600, NES (lost my gun, boo, no more Hogan's Alley), Genesis (plus the CD thingy), SNES, Lynx, Saturn, Jaguar (oh yeh, that's right), PS1, 3 PS2s (one Japanese, one for Linux dev, one for gameplay), PS3, Wii. Games are, obviously, too numerous to list.

Over in the PC dept, I've got: 1 homebuilt PC (need to get some serious Alienware going), and a DarthBook. Recently unloaded my historic C64 and 128.

      Wow, you guys have Dreamcast on here! Anyways, in many respects, I think Rally2 was better than the first. The graphics, physics and overall look and feel were improved. As a big fan of driving games (and similar e.g. Wipeout) I think the Rally franchise was a great one. These were very compelling g more »ames at the time, and are only eclipsed in my memory by the rise of Colin McRae on the PC years later. This was definitely one of my favorites for the DC, and an overwhelming sense of nostalgia makes me want to head home and pullout all my ancient consoles tonight to take a trip down memory lane. If you've got a DC around, and can scrounge up a copy of Rally2, I would highly recommend giving it a whirl. « less

      Civ 4 is pretty damned smooth. I really like the work that has been done on the game play, civilization interaction and the more subtle relations between the civs when you are playing vs. the computer. The only thing stopping me from full-on loving this game is that when you are playing versus hum more »an opponents, the race to completion of one task or another, in order to win, is not balanced as well as I think it could be. For example, some tech paths lead to success more effectively than others, and once everyone knows these paths, trying to deviate makes it very unlikely you'll succeed. But that aside, I think this game is by far the best yet in the series, and, of all the non-console games I play, this is where I blow about 75% of my time (currently). « less
