Any game that lets you beat the crap out of your friends by swinging Wii Remotes at them (even virtually) is worth the price of admission. I hope you do have friends, as this is definitely a game you'll want a group for.
Dear 1 vs 100: I like your game. The questions are varied, I like when I get a math/science question right that 80% don't, and I laugh when I get movie/music/tv questions wrong that 80% get right. But for the love of all that is good, please fix the bugs like the ones that made my 360 freeze all night last night, so that I can rate you higher when you go live!
I like real-time strategy games. I also like turn-based strategy games. I like many JRPGs as well. Valkyria Chronicles is basically all three put together really well. I'm 11 chapters into the game, and running my squad through operation after operation is challenging and fun. Here's hoping the game continues being awesome.
At its core, BattleForge is a fun RTS. But its biggest problem is that in the $50 box you buy, you don't get the entire game--there are hundreds of cards to collect, and the 3000 battlepoints the game comes with are nowhere near enough to collect them all. It's like buying StarCraft, but needing to buy units separately with real money. Admittedly, though, since I paid far less than $50 for the game, it's not as much an issue for me ;)
I'm a little worried though. Will we all need to pay money for more card packs when new cards come out? Time will tell. For now though, my copy of Battleforge is well worth the money I put into it, but I'm not sure it would be worth $50 of it.
Update: The game is now $30 retail, and is free-to-play for those so inclined. More players is more better, so I'm upping my rating a star.
It has zombies. It has people who kill zombies. It has zombies who kill people who kill zombies. You can be a person that kills zombies... and you can be a zombie that kills people. And it's even more fun when your fellow zombies/people are your friends. Hell, it's also fun when the people/zombies you are killing are your friends too.
