The mixture of real time with turn based was extremely fun, as was the number of characters with different strengths and weaknesses.

Quite simply, one of the best strategy RPG's I have ever played. Beautiful visuals, sweeping sounds, and a deep storyline combined with a unique battle system make this a must play for any strategy fan. Please keep it up, Sega!

The must-own game for the PS3. If you like strategy, memorable characters, and a story that is beyond epic, then this game is for you. The visual style in this game is simply beautiful, from the backgrounds, the sky, the characters, explosions, every single item in this game is gorgeous. Storywise, Valkyria Chronicles delivers a rich and lengthy story that is only made better by the great voice acting. If you like ANY strategy games, this game is for you. It combines the loveable characters and difficulty of a Fire Emblem game, the fast-paced action of an RTS, and the general mechanics of an SRPG like FF Tactics or Disgaea. The story isn't exactly groundbreaking, but it is an interesting parallel-universe World War II/Steampunk sort of thing. All in all, I reccomend, and it's a really cheap game, so you have no excuse. Well, unless you don't have the 50 hours this game deserves from you.

This is a fun, beautifully and uniquely rendered game. It mixes real time combat, turn-based squad strategy, and anime characters to create a rich game that is just plain fun to play.

I like real-time strategy games. I also like turn-based strategy games. I like many JRPGs as well. Valkyria Chronicles is basically all three put together really well. I'm 11 chapters into the game, and running my squad through operation after operation is challenging and fun. Here's hoping the game continues being awesome.
