I though the game was pretty good...till the end. i thought the end boss battle was way to hard for its own good and really threw off the balancing of the game. Voice acting was great though and the game looked really nice but that end killed it for me...shame
This would have been a five but it was not long enough.
What I did play though, the presentation was fantastic. The villains had life to them due to the motion capturing technology used and each was a thrill to encounter and fight against. The game also had a nice conclusion to finish out the build up of the story.
Although at times the gameplay can be messy and repetitive, when the game does try to diversify from its hack and slash core it usually falls flat.
Also the reliance on quicktime events in key moments and boss battles can be quite frustrating.
However, beyond the gameplay failings of Heavenly Sword remains a great story and hands down the best virtual performances in a video game. This should not be understated since it is a crucial step forward to inject more emotion into games. A flawed but very important game of…

Just the best slasher on curren-gen consoles.
This game is much better than DMC4 because of many things. Storyline, gameplay, practically everything. Heveanly sword looks and plays like a movie - it's short, but full of action and film-like storyline. Mm, storyline... one of the best ever, huh. The game tell us a lot of things, it jump from one person to another again and again.
So, in two words - this game is awesome. May be it's even better than God of war 3.
One of the best games that i have played at this generation. It has everything: awesome graphics, a gorgeous and powerful female character, Andy Serkis as villain, fantastic gameplay, destructive combos and is difficult but not so much. I have made everything in this game but even now the last chapter is so wonderful that i still play it from time to time.
