solid survival horror game with good plot twist and ending. but the game lacks variety and the environment feels bland and dull.

One of the coolest new IP's to grace the scene. Dead Space is creepy, suspenseful and interesting. Although the main character is a bit of a mute, the mythos and the rest of the cast make up for that. Fans of survival horror won't be disappointed, as this game delivers. Incredible weapons, cool monsters, and innovative ways to mutilate and destroy your enemies. A must own for anyone who isn't squeamish.

Scariest game I've ever played. The sound effects are just eerie and disquieting and the fact that they built the status elements right into the suit makes the immersive factor more intense in my opinion. I also like the dismemberment combat functions - adds an element of uniqueness to it, along with the great weapons you can wield in doing it.

Simply put, Event Horizon + The Thing + Resident Evil 4 = Dead Space.
Of course this is a over simplification but it should give you an idea what to expect.
While overall a fairly enjoyable gam,e it does suffer from repetition. There are only a handful of enemy types and most of the environments are pretty standard. The story is not very compelling despite the developers attempts to flesh out the world. for me Dead Space' saving grace is its slick design and user interface.

I played this game from beginning to end before I was able to even touch another game.

I love the 3rd person shooter survival horror games, so thought I would try this out. HA! This is NOT a survival horror game because you get to PACK HEAT! That saw blade gun was my favorite! It was really a nice change to be able to sneak around in a monster infested labyrinth of levels (in a spaceship) with ample weaponry instead of being stuck with a flashlight and some useless herbs!…

Love the environmental interface (all indicators are worked into the character's suit, etc), enjoy the 'dismemberment' battle paradigm, but after a while it gets pretty obvious when the game is leading you into a room where you're going to have to fight to survive. Luckily, the fighting doesn't get boring for this fact, and the limited-ammo survival horror still works.

This game is one of the first games in a long time that excited me. I love the third person shooter genre, and the fact that you are using things like saw blades and plasma guns....What could be better?

I was watching my coworker play this game at work and it looked like a pretty fun game. I wouldn't play this game when I'm home alone in the dark.
