  • GT4 is the greatest ideation of GT3 that's possible on the PS2. There's no doubt that this game absolutely kills everything else around in terms of graphics, sound effects, and force feedback. The license tests, circuits, missions, hundreds of cars, and dozens of tracks all add up to what is still one hell of an addictive racing game. Get ready to sign over your nights and weekends because this $50 investment is going to absorb all of it.

The only problem with GT4 being the perfect GT3 is that after four years we were still hoping for more. The AI is still as predictable as ever, following its own line no mater what. There's also no online functionality whose absence weighs heavily on the rest of the game. With that the human element of competition is only visible through the rare LAN party, the graphically inferior 2-player mode, or racing against someone else's time.

There's still no doubt that GT4 is still the king of the console racers in terms of the number of features and overall selection, but it's looking more and more likely that the next quantum leap for the series will be with Gran Turismo 5. It's rumored that we'll be seeing vehicle damage along with more developments that will be freed up by the more powerful PS3 hardware. That's when the drive of your life will completely amaze us once again.

  • I've always enjoyed GT, but the amount of TIME it takes to advance in the game is just too long for me. Having to do 30+ races to buy another car that you can use to get to a higher level race is just too much for me. But the customization and representation of real life cars is amazing.
