the new gameplay "Last Stand" just gave this game a kudo. It's just amazing. Also the Skirmish against other players in multiplayer is also a fun element to this game. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves RTS games.
I was skeptical when I first heard that Dawn of War 2 was removing base-building from the gameplay. I looked back on the hours I spent on Soulstorm taking over ths sytem, square by square and wondered if that would ever happen in a next-gen title. When I finally got my hands on Dawn of War 2 I was completely forgot about any part of the original series. Here was a real strategy game, not a resource hoarding game (which can be fun). I love the game play, the small army sizes, and building up my amory over each mission. Excellent combination of loot-grinding and startegy.
DOW2 blends traditional RTS elements with new scope and a fresh feel. By limiting unit numbers through resource management and keeping base building out of the way it really allows for some true strategies to emerge. In need of some balance but only the kind that comes with time.
Really enjoy the single player campaign's action /RPG focus. Its nice getting new battlegear from fallen enemies and decking out your troops between missions.
The competition online is not surprisingly hardcore and fierce. Play it now, before everyone jumps over to Starcraft 2 later this year.
Warhammer is one of the best Universes created by Human Mind :D And in Motion it is way better than the Tabletop Game. Dawn of War I was perfect with all it's Add-Ons. Dawn of War II is just N1! Love this Game!
It's a good game. The co-op campaign is awesome and there are tons of levels to explore. However, the campaign can get repetitive after a while, but it's still fun being able to upgrade your units with all the gear you collect.
Multiplayer is strange. I wish they had more multiplayer options like different styles (king of the hill, capture the flag, etc). Right now they only have deathmatch and node-point based multiplayer. It's fun for a while but it can get boring. There are no bases to build, only units and heroes.
Pretty good game. Not sure it's worth my $50 but it had a good run and I still play it once in a while.
