Spore (PC)

Barko's review for Spore (PC)

Spore (PC)

This game was really fun, i enjoyed the cell stage very much! People thinking the cell stage shouhld be a standalone game should be prosecuted!!!!!!!!!

Noway, that would be so boring, the cell stage is boring after like 15 minutes.
Anyways, after the cell stage everything else is pretty fun, i mean being able to grow as a creature and find differant fossils and stuff like that, its pretty awesome.

Its a must have game, and sometimes it does get a bit repetitive, but you just have to shake it off, and come back to it, BRING ACHIEVEMENTS !!!

  • If you have the time and patience and like to get philosophical while you play, play Spore. If you had your ship, would you go around Terraforming planets...?

  • Spore is more 'toy' than game.It is designed to make you think about science and the universe we live in. It is made to invoke feelings of awe and amazement not so much in the game itself but the world around us.

The core gameplay draws unashamedly from other games and as a end result is rather shallow. As a hardcore gammer I found my self experimenting with the customization only a little and rather plowing through until the games 'end'.

Absolutely must be checked out, but gammers will…

  • It definitely didn't live up to what it advertised from the beginning, but it is still a very great game with much to offer. I play it on a regular basis when I have nothing else to do. The game has moderate replay value, and even more replay value when you get the expansions (especially Galactic Adventures).

Awesome game, but it feels lacking in some aspects. I hope to see more developments to this game in the future.

  • Spore--as a concept--works better on paper than it does in function and collapses under the weight of its own ambition. At some points the game drags on as a simple play concept is drilled into our heads, at others it feels as if great potential is wasted and you're left with not enough to do and too much area to do it in. Granted I still enjoy the game to a point and do so love the presentation they've given us, but even with all Spore offers it…

  • It did not live up to the hype, and did not live up to my expectations which was for a scientific life-like simulator of evolution. The game will keep you entertained until about 3 hours into the space stage, you realize all the repetition. The game is something you would think about returning, a couple days after you purchased it.

  • Spores is really fun, up to a point. One thing i didn't like about it was that the game play changes a lot. Spores is like playing 5 games in 1 title and the part i found most annoying was the space age. I really liked this game but it got more and more disappointing as you advance in age. 4/5

  • Overhyped disappointment. Creating stuff is just simply fun but that's about it. Gameplay is horrible and there are too much ideas not finished.

  • The game starts off great! It's such a pity that the amoeba stage is over so quickly! They should release that as a standalone game.
Anyways, the in between levels were ok, but the space stage was terrible.
The various editors/creators are what really make the game allowing you to create interesting things and creatures.
Also, it felt like a lot of things were cut from the game! No doubt they will be put back in slowly as expansions.
    Typical money ploy.

  • Great game you can jump into, and play for hours....... its definetly a replayable game, you find something different every time... even creatures made by other players or even that you made!!!! Every stage gets more complex but remains simple in the state that its almost just like the last.

  • I just love the open-end structure of this one. Every stage get more complex, ywet never gets to a point were there's complexity for complexity's sake. Creating creatures, buildings and vehicles never gets old and truly makes each planet feel like your own. I'm also a big fan of the fact that everything I've encountered in Spore was created by another player.

  • Awesome game

  • A few years ago at e3 this game looked amazing. I think Will Wright took up a little bit too much to chew, because spore's release ended up being a dud for most of the people looking forward to this game. For instance, they had the ability to make a lot more diverse and cool creatures with what they showed and they had the ability to build cities under the sea. All and all, this game was a big waste of the two or so hours I have played it.…
