Since this game has been out for some years now, this review is for "back then".

This game had me hooked with the way it revolutionized FPS games at the time. The developer's console, the sound effects, visuals, weapons to use, reload animation, character control, team work elements like Med and Ammo packs, and competitiveness.

It kept me hooked long enough to be busy until Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

There's no XP-ranking or skills system, but that was either rare or non-existent for FPS games back then.

One of the most grizzly and atmospheric FPS shooters I have ever played. Basically, if a game pits you against undead, nazis AND undead nazis, I am sold. Brilliant game and level design, amazing atmosphere and story and the odd portion of macabre sarcasm make this an umissable masterpiece.

I've played Crisis and COD WaW
and really like them.
But Wolfenstein is a real classic. Single player good fun but multiplayer is excellent.
I've been playing online multiplayer Wolfenstein since 2001.
Great action and a good laugh especially for older gamers like me.
AI is excellent - enemy will follow you anywhere - also funny script you hear if you sneak up on enemy.

There are rumours of an RTCW update (so much better than ET) . but even at its age the action is better than many new games…
