Benedict's review for Left 4 Dead (PC)
I'm sorry to say to all the fans here, but this game gets very tedious and tiring after playing for a week or two. All the zombies look the same, and it doesn't give you the sensation of playing a horror based genre game. Graphic wise, valve has done a spectacular job on it; however the gameplay gets very repetitive.

It does something with games that most people don't really notice. It makes you and your partners actually work together to survive to the end. It may not be the best single player experience but it certainly gives a good co-op gameplay and that's what I wanted. You can jump into this game with your friends and know that it's going to be a great time. -

Co-op games are always good fun (specially on a LAN) & this does the co-op very well. You can survive on your own but it's very difficult & playing on-line can be frustrating when someone rushes way ahead then expects you to save them in 5 seconds when something goes wrong. Can also be annoying when "team mates" don't agree with your choice of weapon (get over it & play the game). Graphics are good & there are a number of community add-ons & mods around now, but the gameplay… -

Even though the sequel will be out next month this is still a quality game well worth the purchase. The best co-op I've ever seen, a realistic atmosphere, believable characters, and even a little humour.
There is a shortage on official campaigns but the AI Director (if not quite as much as was promised) keeps the game fresh for a long a time.
Valve has hinted at even more DLC to come too so there's even more to look forward to! -
Awesome fun, the ease of getting into the game makes it one of the best co-op multiplayer games I've ever played. Fantastic. -
Who doesn't love killing zombies with friends and family? L4D is a fast paced FPS with a focus on teamwork. L4D can be fun when played solo with 3 AIs helping but really shines when played online.
In the campaign mode your objective is to survive hordes of hungry infected, including the 5 "special" infected that have various powers you need to overcome as a team, while trying to reach the next "safe house."

It's a great game that requires teamwork, if you try to be John Rambo you will fail and so will your team.. With that said thats what makes the multiplayer so immersive and fun. If you enjoy killing zombies or just love a nice multiplayer FPS this game is for you. -
