In this episodic sequel (formerly known as "Aftermath"), players continue the groundbreaking story that came to an expl more »osive halt at the conclusion of Half-Life 2. Players once again assume the role of Gordon Freeman and team up with sidekick Alyx Vance to flee the remnants of a nearly-destroyed City 17 and it's eerily-empty streets. The action begins quickly as the damage to the citadel has been done and Gordon and Alyx must lead the evacuation effort. Second installment of Half-Life 2.
Co-op can be added with Synergy mod though.

This episode was alright but annoyed me in many ways. I couldn't stand Alyx and some of the areas got a little dull. It was fun to play through but overall a forgettable Half-life installment.

While steps above the average FPS, Episode 1 feels too short and uneventful especially in comparison to the amazing Episode 2. Still a must play, if only because it sets up the next one!

It's not quite as good as Half-life 2 or Episode 2, however it is still very fun to play.

It's a nice addition to HL2 but it's swiftly over. Still it's very fun to play.

Eh. Its good, but not amazing. It has good graphics, but the game play is kind of closed off, and kind of shallow. But, that is not to say it is not fun; its just not very open. Still a good game to play, but only with hl2 and EP2.

I didn't like this episode. I was excited to get back in to the Half Life saga again, but this one just wasn't very fun. There were endless zombie battles and too many jump scares. Usually these Half Life games are a fine balance of scares and fighting, this one went overboard with it.

A great addition to HL2, this doesn't add much that the original didn't already cover, but it brings back much of the great aspects of the original.
