Guild Wars (PC)

Guild Wars is a new kind of MMORPG experience. It eliminates the less exciting aspects of world-map play by using a miss more »ion-based design, while still keeping the features that make massive online role-players great. Make new allies in towns or outposts, form a party, and then go tackle a quest together. Your party always has its own unique copy of the quest map, so camping, kill-stealing, and long lines to complete quests are all things of the past. As you play out your quest, you have an unprecedented level of freedom: Your magic can build bridges and open up new pathways, or it can burn down forests and villages. Best of all, you'll never meet new players only to discover that you can't play with them or compete against them because their characters are on a different server than yours -- in Guild Wars, all characters live in one seamless world. « less

Strongly recommend this game. It is such a great game at it's price and most of all, it's fee to play online. Can't wait for Guild Wars 2 to come out.

Deep story, quest paths that draw you through the story of the game, pervasive NPC characters, amazing art direction, beautiful score (Jeremy Soule), engaging gameplay, and endless skill combinations are just a few of the great features of Guild Wars.

After over three thousand hours spent in all the game's campaigns, across 11 characters, it remains both the best MMO and the best game (overall) that I've played. It is, quite simply, a world that you want to inhabit once you discover it, and the journey of discovery is enthralling…

A great online RPG that stands out from most other MMOs. Original, with a very good storyline, characters, quests and battle system. Definitely worth a try if you haven't yet :P

This game gives new meaning to the word "nerd" meaning that you don't have to spend 100 hours on it to be good were in other games 100 makes you just look like someone who has no life and you still arn't good.

Guild Wars, four years and going strong still. Guild Wars is divided into three separate chapters plus an expansion. Each chapter is a stand-alone game and requires no other chapters to play. You do, though, expand your world by getting the other chapters. The expansion, called Eye of the North, adds additional content to the game by giving players new weapons, new armors, areas to explore, controllable non-playable characters called Heroes, and something to link your Guild Wars achievements and items to the sequel: Guild Wars…

Tried WOW, Warhammer, Age of Conan plus other lesser games and BY FAR this is the most enjoyable of all. No monthly fee, and best of all no stupid grinding for useless levels. This actually feels like a game and not like a second job or a monotonous chore.

This game is VERY extensive, i mean VERY. You could never finish doing everything in this game, ever, and ive been trying for 4 years.
Theres no Monthly subscriptions so your never left feeling like you should play.
It is kinda complicated to explain the type of gameplay unless you play it yourself, ive tried to explain it to people to get them to play and i find i cant. Every campaign adds on to the overall story and EXTENDS the game, they arent seperate games.
So far…
