The graphics hold up, even in todays standards. If you played DOOM, and DOOM II as a child you will go crazy for this amazing shooter that takes you into a futuristic facility, on mars!

My step-brother and I got Doom3 the friday it came out. We then beat Doom3 the following Sunday. This game is not at all lengthy, and the extremely high requirements (for its time) were laughable considering that the game was nearly pitch black the whole way through. I was not impressed by its revamped enemies and kooky weapons, on top of everything the final boss was a complete joke and totally not cool for any Doom fan to run into as the final stage.

I've beat the game 7 times now. It still holds up today in terms of graphics and sound. The tense gameplay and the tight controls make this a classic for me and a worthy successor to the DOOM franchise.

Flashy Graphics, Creepy and bone-chilling to the point my pulse was racing, but I still found the overall experience only to be average at best. Because the level design (not the structure, but the aesthetics) were not my cup of tea.

To really play Doom 3, you have to turn the sound up to the point where the gunshots almost make you jump, turn off all the lights in the room, and shut the door. I guarantee you will enjoy this game then. It is a little short if you play it all day for a few days, but when you play alone in the dark, your sessions won't be that long. Your heart just can't take it!

The original Doom was one of my first forays into gaming, so I admittedly have a bit of id fanboy-ism in me. With that said, I can't bring myself to give Doom 3 above 2.5 stars. They just haven't improved Doom beyond a point and shoot game.

The original Doom was one of my first forays into gaming, so it pains me to give Doom 3 a lot 2.5 star rating. That graphics are impressive, but the storyline and gameplay just don't cut the mustard.
