This is one of my all-time favorite games. I played the CRAP out of this game, taking multiple characters to level 70 and beyond. I spent too much time playing this in college, but it was really a memorable experience.
Diablo 2 is the best top-down RPG, and maybe one of the best RPG games ever made. The loot, hordes of enemies and unique characters will leave you never wanting to quit playing.
This game was fun even from the beginning. There was co-op play as well as a solid single player experience. There was plenty of classes to mess around with. I do have a few complaints though - no re-spec system and there were tons of hackers in the end.
This was my first foray into this genre on PC. The game kicked my ass. In a GREAT way. I've never had so much fun getting attacked and killed. Haven't met a player who didn't love it.
What can I say ? This game stole years of my youth and dragged them down into the abyss of infernal addictivness. The game design is so crisp and the flow of the game so excellent, you can basically never put it down. I recommended this game once to a mate (a non-gamer) who break up with his girlfriend, and I got him over it :-) - no joke.
