The best FPS-RPG hybrid ever made. Great script that integrates with the game well, not just a series of overblown cutscenes. More than any other game in this genre, the levels feel alive, with memorable characters and plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. Some technical glitches, high system requirements (not so much an issue today), and anticlimactic endings mar what is otherwise a truly memorable, mature, and ambitious game.
