Baldur's Gate (PC)

DJBPace07's review for Baldur's Gate (PC)

Baldur's Gate (PC)

This is considered by many to be one of the best PC RPG's ever made, and I agree. For its time, the game was a breath of fresh air in the PC gaming market. Baldur's Gate is a very large and epic game set in the Forgotten Realms. This is the same world that R.A. Salvatore writes about with Drizzt, if you're into fantasy novels. A player can easily spend more than 30 hours in the game just exploring the expansive world. Like most D&D games, this one will let you choose from a number of classes and customize your character to fit your play style. This is not a very fast-paced game since battles are played largely by computer with the user selecting attacks and performing strategy. Anyone who enjoys an engrossing game with plenty of things to do will certainly like Baldur's Gate. Several years after the release, this game is still fun to play.

  • When the people reviewing this game said 'This will be big - in every sense of the word' they weren't kidding. Quite good replayability, very D+D style battles with RPG elements. And I think this one managed to stand the test of time; Even now, this game remains up amongst my top 5 favourites. Ever.
