ArmA 2 is one of the most realistic military combat sims of all time.
It has an open world environment, and almost limitless tactical choice in completing objectives. This is one of the only games where you can divide up into separate squads and divisions and perform missions specific roles in a realistic environment.
Its the next best thing to actually digging your own trench and declaring war on your neighbors.
