I really liked many of the Mario games but somehow this one I just couldn't get into. The setting was too strange and I didn't like the water mechanic at all. A rare miss for the series in my opinion.

this game is one of the best games in the mario francise. bout i think that it could have a littile bit more. but nintinde did put in a lot of efort. 3 out of 5.

Fun twist on the standard 3D mario mechanic. However frustrating level design, a schizophrenic camera system and really bad voice acting sours what could have been magical.

Just because it isn't Mario 64 doesn't mean it sucks. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Every Mario game can't be an incredible leap in gameplay and graphics, although I thought the F.L.O.W. water pack was unique and fun to use. That being said I think the "dry retro" levels offer some of the best gameplay across the entire Mario Franchise. If you have a Wii or a Gamecube this game should be part of your collection, you won't regret it.

I really thought this was underrated. The gameplay was just as tight as Mario 64, and the graphics were incredible considering it was just GC. The levels were creative and playful, and the dry retro levels were amazingly good. Give this game some love!
