  The complexity of this game is simple and well-balance. Though there are some jobs in NY are quite troublesome to go back and forth, unless you get friend to send you the extras to complete your job tier. Cuba gives good experience but less monetary funds. Russian is in between like NY but req more »uire hell lot of energy. Different jobs specify a type of loot dropped. And while you attack other mafias, you get loots dropped too. In order to accumulate higher attack and defense ratings, you gotta have lots of good loots and try to put some points into it if you don't want to get yourself fucked. I only dislike the declare war system which is to attack only your own friends and not others. Overall the game is addictive. Once you start.. you feel a need to complete the quest and journey..   Drat.. Just lost my carefully written review. Anyway, I've played this for 1 month straight now and I'm getting annoyed by the repetitiveness of this game. I'm not going to go into the graphics nor sounds as they are minimal or non-existant in this browser based game. This review will be a bit jump more »y just because I managed to erase my previous text and on top of that, this game just doesn't have any clear structure to be separated into parts. It's just different parts that give you money or experience at the cost of others. Mafia wars is your standard grinding game. You get levels, upgrade your character and buy better stuff and invite friends to be in your mafia. Their level affects your gameplay as yours does theirs. The actually powerful items are received by doing jobs or through buying them by using reward points or cash earned (by doing jobs or through your owned properties). You can also fight other criminals, go in war with them, hitlist them or rob their properties for money. You also get money for doing "jobs" which begin from simple street jobs like mugging and robibng grocery stores and little by little level-up to bank heists or blackmailing etc. the job descriptions are pretty creative and you need certain items to complete certain jobs, some are consumables (cameras, photos, liquor, etc.)) and others are permanent (weapons, vehicles, armor etc.). Jobs consume energy which you get over time (through restoring 1 point every 5 minutes) or by level-ups or completing jobs. Anyways, it's just simple clicking, buying and hoping that the random number generator gives you the right items so that you can advance. There's also a bunch of other features like achievements, lottery, gifting, promoting friends to get bonuses for them and you alike, but they're all just other ways to distract you from your free-time. As this game is just about gathering better stuff, more money and leveling up. It's addictive alright, if you're into grinding like in MMORPG's and other boring excuses of a game then you're in for a treat. Otherwise you'll be addicted for a while and then just sort of get bored. There's no plot, no goal (other than just get better, but there's always some other player that kicks your arse) and no point. The reward points which you get after every 5 levels, through lottery or by Buying them is another gameplay killing element. As there are always those who spend money in this game to gain advantage over others and that's just desperate. If I pay for something, I expect to get my money's worth. I don't recommend this to anyone, but those who just have too much time to spend. Even then I'd suggest you go see some funny videos or read a book or something. This is just endless cycle of doing the same repetitive tasks. Best explained, my single session is following. 1. Check for gift requests and accept them each, step into the game. 2. Check the news about attacks against you, robberies and help requests. 3. Collect the money from your properties 4. Repair and re-defend any properties that might have been robbed. 5. Do jobs until you run out of energy 6. Vault any full collections 7. Buy more properties to get more money 8. Buy equipment (if you're low level, in other case, request for items, weapons, armor or such from your mafia friends) 9. ... wait for few hours (or much more, depending on your amount of energy) and repeat steps from 1-9 Can you honestly say this is a game? There isn't even any strategic element to this mousewheel. Steer clear, unless you have low-standards. I know much better and challenging text-based games than this, all were done over 15+ years ago. ** Here's the original review I wrote after just 2 weeks of the game. Original *** of 5 : Addictive, albeit a bit buggy online game. Suffers from the "invite friends" thing that so many other online games have to endure as well. Still, a lot of fun and satiating game to play. Perfect for people with GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome, wikipediate it ;) I wonder for how long will I be hooked into this. « less

  Another very addictive Browser RPG, abate with your friends. Surprisingly deep and expansions are released regular enough. Best thing is it does not bug you constantly to buy reward points like some games do.
