Tales of Vesperia (360)

The debut of the Tales series on the Xbox 360, Tales of Vesperia is set in a world reliant on a mysterious ancient techn more »ology known as Blastia. The game follows former knight Yuri as he delves into a shadowy plot to use these magical devices to control civilization, or destroy it.The game makes significant additions to the series' trademark real-time combat system, allowing players to do battle in massive battlefields and learn new special attacks that are tied to individual weapons. New finishing blows allow players to take down enemies in a single hit with correctly timed button combinations, while mission-based battles increase the variety of each encounter as players gain unique items by fulfilling various battle objectives. Players can also use materials collected by successfully executing finishing moves to craft rare and unique equipment for their characters. « less

If you own a Xbox 360 and like JRPGs, then there is no excuse to not play this game!

Didn't like it

Great story, keeps you involved in it the whole time, and great game play and battle setup. Most of the time I would find myself grinding without thinking about it because the battles allowed more depth. Not quite as good of a story as Star Ocean: The Last Hope but all Tales games have nothing to do with each other so anyone could start at any point without missing the story.

I've played almost through the entire game. Tales of Vesperia is a great RPG - best I've played in a while.

I still have a few complaints though - at times there is way too much talking, too many times do you have to pick up each member of your party before you set out, and sometimes the difficulty curve makes the game extremely hard (one minute you'll be playing fine, then get killed several dozen times on the boss).

Besides those things, it's a very solid RPG. I recommend.

Good game, but the story could have been fully voice acted. There is way too much conversations where its not really needed anyway. Other than that, there isn't really any bad sides.

Though I hate Namco Bandai because they are selling levels and other useless stuff in the marketplace instead of real add-ons. Also if they couldn't fit all voices in the game dvd then why can't they release it there as a free downloadable content?!

Brilliant game, most of what I would ever want from a JRPG, combat could have evolved a little more throughout the game, but asides from that, fantastic. One of the best of the Tales series in my opinion.
