Personally, I loved the story but based on game play i felt it slightly lacking. As a Star Ocean fan since the first one on SNES though, the story completely follows through and playing them all and following it, this game ties in the earlier idea's after World War 3 to explain what exactly happened. The item creation idea and stuff irritates me when in comparison to the creation setup in Star Ocean: The Second Story for the PS1. If you enjoy RPG's you will enjoy this, the battles can…

I usually hate JRPGs, but in this one, there's so many borderlines Hentaï dialogs I actually enjoy playing it ;)

This is an improvement on earlier Star Ocean games and the tweaks make the whole game more fun and less frustrating. The item creation is a lot better but you're still limited to 20 items. The cut-scenes are long but entertaining (so long that the game pauses when your controller auto-disconnects from inactivity). I'm enjoying playing this. What more can I say?

It was definitely one of the best RPGs that has came out lately. The game is long enough to where you feel like there is enough content for it to be enjoyable and fulfilling. The battle system is great! The only issue I had was some of the voice acting at times, but I definitely got over it with everything else. Definitely a try for any RPG fans out there.

I went in expecting to hate this game and was actually very surprised. I loved the characters (even if they were a tad cliched), enjoyed the battle system, and was having fun with the story.
Also, I wasn't bothered by the voice actors like many others were, I didn't think they were fantastic, but they didn't detract from the game at all. I highly recommend it!

A great game for people who enjoy Japanese RPGs. It has a great real time battle system that never got old for me. And it has enough side quest to keep you going even after you beat the game. A few major problem I had with this game is the voice acting and the story. Many of the characters had just god awful voices from the beginning to the end, all though I'm willing to admit not all of them we bad. The story at some points in the game…

Everything except the voiceovers is fantastic. As a huge JRPG nutter this is like crack for me. Charming side-quests, decent enough story, great battles, tons of stuff to do and a solid cast of characters.
