A strategy game based on the Halo universe, Halo Wars immerses you in an early period of the storied Halo universe, allo more »wing you to experience events leading up to the first Halo title. With the guidance of Serina, a spirited artificial intelligence (A.I.) persona, direct legions of UNSC soldiers, Warthogs, Scorpions, and more, each group having its own strengths and uses in battle. Adventurous commanders can also call upon ancient Forerunner technology, if they are fortunate enough to find it hidden throughout the battlefield.In campaign mode, command the armies of the UNSC warship Spirit of Fire, with familiar and new UNSC units in its initial encounters against the Covenant, an alien coalition threatening to obliterate mankind. Covenant forces are also waiting for you to lead them into battle in multiplayer skirmishes via the New Xbox Experience. Good game!
I usually not a big fan of RTS games, haven't played one since 2003 when I played Starcraft, I hate Age of Empires (the famous saga of the guys that did this game), but this is a good take on the genre. Specially designed for the control pad and it really shows.
Maybe I miss having a little more control of my units but the tradeoff for more rapid action is a nice one...

A must buy for Halo fans that want to try a new genre!

Awesome game, Awesome story, Awesome music. I have loved RTS's ever since WarHammer4000 on my old pc. this just makes it better. Get it Nao!

Keep in mind that Halo Wars is the first rts I've ever played(go on, call me a noob), so my standards for the game were based on the same standards I have for all games. Be fun and give me reason to play after the initial first run.

I beat the campaign and for the most part it's pretty good. What I liked most about it is that most of the missions have you doing pretty different things. Almost none of the missions feel similar. Halo Wars probably has the most…

It's a great story and the substory of Sadie adds some drama to the campaign too bad it's too short.

Halo Wars is basically Age of Empires 3, but more streamlined and with the Halo universe as the focus of the story. It really is nothing special, but it's the best console based RTS you can get and works fantastically with a controller. The most noteworthy thing about the game are the cutscenes; They're GORGEOUS. Good, but nothing great. It shows an RTS can be done on a console, but could have been much better on the PC. The campaign is very similar to the ones in the Company of Heroes games.
