  • I love the gameplay and how it has reputation and a sickness level (ok maybe not the sickness part but still) Put it simply, its astounding!

  • i know some friends who couldn't get through the first 20 minutes, but i found myself absorbed into the surroundings, story and characters. I've played it through completely twice now and am sure i love this game.

  • The campaign was truly a sight to behold. Excellent graphics, nice story line...Great campaign! And then, I tried multiplayer, uhmmm is this perfect dark zero?...Choppy, and unappealing to say the least! Based my review on the campaign, but I would have given 5 stars if the online play was even of value.

  • An overall solid FPS that suffers somewhat from tedium. Still, multiplayer is well executed and the map editor is a godsend for console players. High-quality visuals and audio are also good marks for it.

  • A great game concept riddled with tiny bugs here and there. With the kupdate just released, hopefully those bugs are finally gone. Now I can finish off where I left off. Open world for a FPS never felt better. Full freedom feels great when you've been accustomed to being pushed around, so it's a bit overwhelming at first, but in the end you wonder why more games don't take this approach. Well worth the investment to try something different from a FPS.

  • First let’s start with what I like about the game. I loved the graphics and the sense of immersion you get with this game. I also loved the openness of the environment, day/night cycle, and dynamic weather effects. The audio is top notch as well. Lets move into what I don't like. There is definitely not enough variety in the missions, if I remember correctly there may only be 2 or 3 different mission types. While the action in fire fights is really good there is no…

  • Ubisoft tried something a little different, taking a first person shooter and trying to make it open world. Unfortunately by not having anywhere near enough variety when it came to gameplay options, the game just ends up feeling unnecessarily long and drawn out. It lacks any really plot and while the visuals are fantastic as a package it really wasn’t enough to keep me engaged. By the end I was just burning through the main storyline to get to the end. No way I was going to go through all…

  • Far Cry 2 drops the sci-fi plotline of the first, and goes for a straight-forward, somewhat realistic, shoot-em-up adventure.

  • It's fair to say the game is massively misunderstood by the FPS crowd, myself included. While most came expecting a game reminiscent of the original, or of any story-driven FPS, Far Cry 2 actually plays entirely differently.
There will be those who rush into it and become frustrated with the mission delivery system which, initially (or to the unknowing) will seem massively frustrating as you trawl from one end of the country to the other.
This game, however, is not designed to be a mission-en-mission game, it's designed to draw you further…

  • Probably one of the best shooters of all time. A truly sandbox FPS.

  • If ever a game needed fast travel this would be it. Getting from place to place is a chore but once you get where you need be it's explosive fun. Fire physics make molotov's and flamethrower's more interesting then they are in other shooters and the multiplayer is also really solid, having a map editor also helps extend the games life some.
