The BEST horror game I have ever played. I was afraid it would be another crappy sci-fi shooter, but I was wrong and I'm glad I was. I have played through the game 4-5 times, and it still scares me! The atmosphere is amazing. Graphics are beautiful. I loved the necromorphs. Isaac is a very likable main character even though he doesn't speak. Replay value is very high if you want to play on each mode and upgrade all your equipment. Highly recommended. I think all horror fans need to play this.
Although it's an overused term in video game reviews, I can't find anything word better than "atmospheric" to describe Dead Space. As you explore a creature infested space station, expect to hear a ton of incredible sound effects intended to scare the pants off of you. The game relies heavily on suspense building and jump scares to make you nervous as you turn every corner. The inventory menu does not pause the game, so you will always feel vulnerable. Really awesome game.
WOW...that was a lot of fun! I haven't jumped that much since the first Silent Hill. Add surround sound in a pitch black room and your ready for one freaky ass night. Filled with dismemberment and adrenaline as you go looking franticly for more ammo cause those f**kers don't go down easy. BRUTAL!
This was one of the best scary games that I've played in a looong time! I like that they have things that jump out at you from the dark, upgradable weapons, and armor. I like the mini games but I really like that you don't HAVE to play the mini games to progress the story. =)
This game bests Resident Evil 5 in every aspect except graphics, but Dead Space is no slouch in that area either. Outstanding, underrated, one of the best games of 2008 hands down.
This is a phenomenal title for gaming everywhere. This is a space horror game that focuses on a zombie apocalypse but with aliens. The aliens have boarded the USG Ishimura which called in an engineering crew composed of you, a scientist whose name escapes me and a military officer the scientist refers to as Hammond. Upon entering you realize that the crew has been taken over and so you slowly begin to take out infected sections of the ship. Nothing in this game really annoyed me other than the ADS…
One of the coolest new IP's to grace the scene. Dead Space is creepy, suspenseful and interesting. Although the main character is a bit of a mute, the mythos and the rest of the cast make up for that. Fans of survival horror won't be disappointed, as this game delivers. Incredible weapons, cool monsters, and innovative ways to mutilate and destroy your enemies. A must own for anyone who isn't squeamish.
This game is better than any other survival horror game I have played. It's also just a blast, literally, to play. Unlike most other games where you shoot your enemies in the head to kill, this one forces you to cut them apart limb from limb. The guns are also just BAD ASS, when you can shoot saw blades and fireballs at your enemies, I'm pretty sure that's safe to say.
Very good game, Storyline is well written and told. Game keeps you immersed within the world especially with how the UI is built into your suit and weapons. I have to say it is also pretty scary the first time through, not many games have me jumping but this has so far.
Aside from the fact that Dead Space is clearly inspired by RE4 in terms of style, game play, fundamental system... this game is seriously one of the best horror survival games I have played since RE4.
In a nutshell, the view is over-the-shoulder, the setting is in space, you get an assortment or guns, or more specifically, cutting tools, and creepy stuff run at you to rip you to shreds. The shooting action is very competent. The game focuses on the idea of "dismemberment" and most of the combat…
This game was so intense in the early levels, it was probably one of the scariest games I've played, but as the game progressed it got less scary and you became more powerful with your weapons. It had an excellent plot line that kept me attached to the story. I never bought this game i beat it within the time of a rental, but i would go through it again and get all the secrets the second time though. It was surely something else, what stood out for me was…
As usual, I'm behind the 8-ball of community interest about a title. Luckily for me in this case the buzz around Deadspace is still very much alive & relivant... as I soon found out why. Released last year to acceptable sales amongst glowing critical reviews, I picked up Deadspace around early Q2 this year and left it to sit on my shelf, regret sprung upon me within 15 minutes of the action starting up.
Deadspace is everything it needs to be, its iry... spine tingling... slow & exhilerating with not a…
