A classic traditional turn based RPG. It features a type of job system (+) to better suit you party/team and the ability to customize which skills (+) you want characters to have. The story's kinda childish but interesting enough to keep you playing. The battle system is your typical turn based, but fighting groups of monsters gives a random stat boost (+) between the next group of monsters in battle. Overall I was pleased with this. 4/5*

Blue Dragon is not the most original RPG as far as design goes. Nor is it the first "must have" RPG on a Microsoft console. The pacing through the first half of the game is far too slow to stay engaging for all but the hardcore JRPG fan and the story is not nearly as epic as the multiple disc, 50+ hour game implies. But for those needing a solid traditional role-playing experience on Xbox 360, Blue Dragon will fit the bill.

This is a so so RPG. The first part of the game is ok, but the plot and combat start to lose the fun and excitement. I never beat it because I got so bored playing it. If you must have a JRPG fix, then this will do.

I'm a bit late jumping on the band wagon but I'm going through playing every RPG on the 360 and this is the one I'm on now. A fantastic RPG for when it was released slightly childish tough if your into more adult themes such as Lost Odyssey. Battle system is solid following the usual JRPG turn base style, with the use of shadows for fighting as opposed to the characters themselves this opens up a chance to follow multiple styles and effortlessly switch between e.g. from a black mage…

The story and characters are geared more towards a younger audience, so older gamers may not appreciate that aspect of Blue Dragon. However, character progression and combat have a nice old-school flavor with a few tweaks to make it interesting. Worth playing for old Final Fantasy fans, but probably won't appeal to much else.

This game reminded me of Final Fantasy a bit.

Anyway, this is one of those games that people would play more for the storyline rather than the gameplay--not saying that the gameplay is bad, of course; it's got a nice battle system + you need to be very stradgetic when it comes to bosses--I'm just saying.
