I have quibbles, but they are minor. The very cohesive art direction, the atmosphere, npc behavior, etc all combine to create a sense of thereness. And once you've got that, once you've bought in to it, the environment very often provides a sense of wonder.

Wonder and Thereness, two of my favorite things about video games.
