The swinging mechanic is solid once you get used to it. That alone and some of the combat surrounding that single game mechanic feels great and is a joy to play when it gets good. There's just so much else that goes wrong in other design elements that make the game a chore to go through. Short list - not enough checkpoints in levels, the need to recollect collectibles should you die during a level, sub par shooting mechanic, open world look with 'rails' that kill you should you not…

You can tell this was outsourced by Capcom, as it doesn't have the usual Capcom polish and sheen. The graphics in particular are very jagged and rough, if you take the time to stop and look at them. While playing the game, however, I did not find myself noticing the jagged edges much at all. The gameplay is innovative and very challenging, and is definitely worth at least one playthrough.

Don't let the reviews fool you. It's a lot of fun. It doesn't do everything right and is a little frustrating at times, but they really nail some of the mechanics.

If you are a fan of the Classic Bionic Commando you will love the single player.. In my experiance with the multiplayer I had a hard time joining games. Overall it was a very fun game.

The mechanics of the arm are spot on. However, the game is overly short, lacks boss fights, has a spaz ending and the radiation gimmick to keep out of areas is annoying. A solid effort was made, but missed the mark. Your better of playing BC: reloaded.
