Sublime. The Batman game the IP deserves. A good mix of game choices and an ability to choose your preferred style results in a winning formula. The combat is fluid and gradually increases in difficulty. Again its up to you how much precision you want to put into your combat style to build combos and become a more effective fighter. The stealth elements again are well balanced allowing the game to maintain its well paced feel. Bioshock is a clear influence but that doesn't mean this is necessarily derivative. The bat toys are great and fun to use.
The art style is great and the voice acting - using many actors from The Animated Series - adds significantly to the batmosphere (see what I did there). Hamill's joker is wonderful. Best game of the year so far by a country mile.
Aww come on it's Worms. What's not to like? For the price and XBLA functionality it's a no brainer. I have found it suffering in taking a while to connect to online games but the single player campaign mode gives more drive to play alone than the first XBLA Worms. Still online multiplay is the environment in which this game shines. It's a blast - literally - with the addition on super sheep and the holy hand grenade. What larks!
Solid good looking title but went the way of most sandbox games for me. Spent a few hours of continuous play in the first couple of days then lost interest. The mars setting gave me a total recall feel to the game. The added features of the destructable enviroment is fun but as with many sandbox games it can't help but be repetetive. If that style of game is your thing you shouldn't be particularly dissappointment with this. It's a rental rather than a purchase and I had fun with the time I spent on it - but I'm done with it now after only a few hours.
Bustin really does make you feel good. This game looks gorgeous and the gameplay is also cool. It follows a re very linear route which suit the game's movie type style. There are some very minor glitches in terms of progressing the story but they are hardly worth mentioning and don't detract from the overall experience. The plot is engaging and in typical Ghostbusters style (to be expected given the wrting credits) - the humour elicits a grin rathert than belly laughs. The game is quite short by todays standards which makes this a perfect rental rather than outright purchase.
It's easy to see the appeal of this game. It's well crafted but the style just isn't for me. I personally found more parallels with Fallout 3 than with, say, GTA4. There are some who will love the setting and the story - very reminiscent of a boys own adventure. The story didn't really draw me in but it's very much personal taste that put me off rather than a poorly made game.
Perfect game to get your Marvel freak on. meta critic score is about right. It looks great - there's a good selection of characters to play and some cool super powers. The co-op play is great fun. The fact the game spans most aspects of the Marvel Universe will appeal to many. For me it made the plot a bit disjointed. Looking forward to MUAII set in the Civil War storyline.
