  • If you liked CoD4, you'll like MW2 (unless you're one of those dedicated server people). MW2 basically takes CoD4 and tacks on tons of customization. I really like the multiplayer progression and especially the perks and kill streak system.

Everyone was talking about the single-player and how it was super controversial. I'm pretty much indifferent to those kinds of things, so I won't comment on anything like that. The single-player is a pretty solid game but I did have my fair share of problems with it: I played CoD4 single-player more than a year ago and I didn't remember all the characters at first; if you didn't play CoD4 single-player, you will probably have no idea with what is going on. Secondly, it was a bit too short - that seems to be the trend though, Uncharted 2 and Batman were both awesome games, but they could be beaten extremely quickly.

With all that said, I still really enjoyed the game and I'm continuing to play the mutli-player. Lack of dedicated servers suck, and there still are some bugs, but the game is still a blast and worth the hype.

  • After playing this game on both the 360 and the PC, I have to say this game is pretty epic. I generally don't like melding of genres, but Borderlands does it well. Fallout 3 was a bit too slow for me actually and Borderlands fills it just right. The battles are satisfying and challenging, and the we more »apons and missions are interesting enough to keep me playing until the end. Co-op makes the game a lot more fun though - there's only so much strategy when you play by yourself. In co-op you can create battle formations, vary in gun types, heck you can even have someone be bait and run around while everyone else shoots the bad stuff. Of course, if you were one of those people that really liked Fallout 3, Borderlands might not be for you. The game is faster and the story line is just as robust (IMO), but the level of customization is a fair amount lower than Fallout 3 (maybe this is offset by 4 different classes?). Regardless, the game is awesome and I highly recommend it :)

  • There was a lot of potential for this game and it had a lot of hype. However, it seemed to fall into a lot of problems that just didn't keep me.

I hate to compare games to WoW, especially since they're like the Wal-Mart of MMOs, but since they are directly challenging them, I will.

The graphics are awesome compared to WoW, but then again, WoW had a certain charm to it. Aion does too, but I guess it just doesn't fit my style.

There's a lack of classes and races. Sure one could argue that there's 8 total, similar to WoW, but WoW then has talent trees that can change how you play. Aion just lacks that.

Grinding. I hate grinding. Aion has too much of it.

Solo-ability. It's hard to solo. Scratch that, It's hard to solo without grinding.

Finally lore. I've always been a fan of Blizzard lore because they tell it so well. Aion though, started off with potential for great lore, but then just stopped. Before I knew it, I was just doing mindless quests that had nothing to do with the rest of the world. World of Warcraft at least had something to look forward to - I didn't even know what I had to look forward to.. fighting dragons? fighting the other faction? In WoW you save the freaking world. Multiple times.

With all that said, it's still a pretty solid game. It's just not for me... and I've been spoiled by WoW.

  • I didn't really like this game, but I could see why people like it. The customization is pretty in depth and the characters are all fun and interesting. The story line is somewhat compelling, but once the game turned into an open world game, it started sucking for me. I found myself wandering around aimlessly from planet to planet looking for the correct place to go. By chance, I found the right place and continued to progress.

When I reached the boss battle, it just wasn't fair. Basically once I got to the top of this elevator, the boss battle began and I was killed instantly. I reloaded, and same thing happened. I wasn't about to reload to before I had gone to the planet and grind, so at that point I just gave up.

Bad AI/balance in these kinds of games really turn me off. I could see why people like it though.

  • This game reminds me of the good ol' side scroller days in the arcades. It is simple enough to have everyone play, and fun enough to play over and over again as a party game.

Eventually it does get dull, but for a XBLA game and that price, it's well worth it.

  • Comon, it's Starcraft, what else needs to be said? One of the best and most balanced RTS out there. There are a lot of AI problems but many people would say that's what makes the game so challenging and fun.

Starcraft 2 is also one of the most anticipated games of the freaking decade. Can't wait.

  • Pretty good game. I wouldn't say it's the best game out there - but it is one of the best survival horrors I've played in a while. I think you HAVE to play Co-op though for it to be the most entertaining. The AI isn't the smartest. One of the best things they do is the whole 'holy crap I don't have enough ammo' stunt. I found myself constantly worrying about ammo and inventory space. /applaud.

  • Fun game... if you're creative.

For some reason when I go through all the puzzles I end up using the same words over and over "gun, flamethrower, machine gun, black hole, helicopter, etc". The fun of it though is coming up with something very random and having it work.

For example, one level is "get the cat off the roof". So what did I do? burn down the house! Easy as that.

If you have a DS, you should at least try it out.

  • Awesome game! It's like TF2 but third person and without all the mean people. I have a few problems with it: unbalanced teams, princess getting lost, but it looks like they're going to continue to patch it, so I'll change my review accordingly once it comes out. I recommend though!

  • City of Heroes except better. Much better.

I guess the reason I like CO better is because the learning curve/leveling system is so smooth. Unlike other MMOs where you're bogged down with having to pick up every single skill and there's too many to use on your numberpad, CO has many different skills and strategies.

For instance, with the power suit skills, many can be used at the same time, which add a depth of strategy. Shoulder rockets and eye lazers, or eye lazers and shooting from your hands?

Also the character customization system is very vast. I have yet to see two characters that look anything alike. I hope they keep it up with endgame content!
